About us

The Chair of Software Engineering at the University of Passau develops methods, tools, and theories for the construction of manageable, reliable, adaptable, and evolvable software systems (e.g., software product lines), ranging from embedded systems to large-scale systems. Furthermore, we complement cutting-edge research with high-quality lecture courses, seminars, and lab exercises. The chair advises regularly bachelor's and master's theses, publishes on highly-ranked international conferences, and receives substantial funding from various sources.

We acknowledge gratefully the support of the German Research Foundation (DFG) for funding the projects Pervolution, ExaStencils, Pythia, SafeSPL & SafeSPL++, FeatureFoundation, and MapReduceFoundation.

The group cooperates with a number of other research groups, research centers, and companies including Siemens AG, Bosch Austria, KEBA AG, Compuware Austria GmbH, Fraunhofer IESE, Software Competence Center Hagenberg GmbH, METOP Research Center, and pure-systems.
